What's Hot & Happening this Weekend?
By FresYes Writing Team

With the Summer Solstice that happened this last Wednesday, and with that this weekend is officially the First Weekend of Summer! (really!)
Doesn’t it seem weird that from here on out the days are going to get shorter? We don’t want to jinx it, but hasn’t it been a cooler summer so far than you remember?
By the way the Equinox (when the days and nights are equal in length) will be on September 23rd and the Winter Solstice (when the days will be the shortest) will be on December 22nd – if you are into those things.
One thing we’re into around here is great food and great music (oh and great beer, great wine, great floofballs too if we’re being honest). Our point is that we have plenty of great food and music happenings this weekend so buckle up!
FRIDAY: Let’s get a little Bluegrass in you!
Bluegrass music is a lively and distinctive genre that originated in the United States, particularly in the Appalachian region. It’s like a harmonious blend of folk, country, and old-time mountain music, infused with a delightful touch of twang. Don’t let that scare you away. Bluegrass will get your toes tapping for sure!
Head on over to the Clovis Veteran’s Memorial Park and catch Evo Bluestein and his Autoharp, Banjo, Fiddle for a great night of contemporary and traditional bluegrass.901 5th St, Clovis, CA 93612 and the show starts at 6:30 PM.
SATURDAY AM: Let’s get a little Breakfast in you!
If you are not familiar with the front page of our website, we have all these great tiles to help you find what you need. If it’s Saturday Morning you need either a great cup of coffee or a little breakfast or both.
Our Coffee Category (https://www.fresyes.com/coffee/) has a coffee poll which you can find out where your neighbors think is the best cup around, while the Breakfast Category (https://www.fresyes.com/breakfast/) has some of the greatest places to satisfy that egg craving you have right now.
We know, you are right now wondering if we have had a breakfast poll – and we have not yet, but we did include a Best of Benaddiction Poll in https://www.fresyes.com/bullard/benaddiction-to-close/ – so there’s that. For the record: our fav might just be “Going the Distance” which of course was also a great song by Cake.
SATURDAY PM: Let’s get a little Green Day in you!
Who couldn’t use a little Billie Joe Armstrong in your life. ApCal is hosting Green ToDay – an incredible tribute band and we’re sending 2 of you to the show for free! If you don’t manage to win the contest, that’s ok, there are still tickets available.
Yes, we just went from the sounds of Bill Monroe to one of the most Iconic American Punk bands but remember, this was Green Day too! Play this and ask your parents about the final episode of Seinfeld. Watch it take a while for it to register on them.
Gates open at 5 PM. Details at https://apcalwine.com/events/green-day-tribute Don’t be an American Idiot, we bet that you’ll have the Time of your Life! – sorry we had to do it!
SUNDAY AM: Let’s get a little O2 in you!
