Here we are folks, the 20th of August - very much on our way to September and then the fall months. Before we get to thinking about cooler weather, I think a moment of silence and pause is in order for all those that are fighting some of the worse forest fires in our state's history.  As I was writing this I got an alert that a new fire in the Sierra National Forest has gotten to about 5 acres as it burns near Dinkey Creek.  Do you recall going to the Fresno Fair when you were a kid and seeing the Smokey Bear display?  I sure do.  I don't recall forest fires of the magnitude we have now back then but the message is a good one...

Let's blow off some steam and spend some time with each other, shall we?!
