559 Night Market is Back!I had the opportunity to attend the last event back in July - it was fantastic so I'm really excited to see Morgan Doizake of Central Fish and Mike Oz of Fresno Street East partner again for this event. The 559 Night Market is a collaboration with local businesses, non-profit groups, and community members. The goal is to support local Chinatown businesses and provide a safe and fun environment inFresno's historic Chinatown.

This month's theme will be bringing back Obon Celebrations back to historic Chinatown in Fresno! There has been a rich history of this ancestral celebration in Fresno Chinatown prior to the change of ownership of the Buddhist Temple in Chinatown in 2011. The 559 Night Market will be bringing back this celebration of loved ones who have passed with entertainment, food, and family fun. 

Through the many challenges of 2020, Chinatown is happy that resilient members of the community can come out to build community by celebrating our people, place, and culture with the 559 Night Market event.
